The project of the Parish Charitable Foundation Caritas Mariupol on the publication of the newspaper works as usual, taking into account all standards of safety as provided for in the legislation of Ukraine.
The only measures that have been postponed due to quarantine are the local media literacy trainings, scheduled for April 2020.
The rest of the project activities involve a non-contact way of working. The editorial staff has previously worked remotely, accounting staff has a remote office, and distribution is carried out mainly through the UkrPoshta operator via mailboxes without direct contact with recipients. Three supervisors who have to communicate with people are currently minimizing contacts and complying with the health care requirements (wearing facemasks and gloves).
Currently, our newspaper is the only source of local news for villagers near the demarcation line in Eastern Ukraine, so we stay calm and alert.
