We present the first issue of HROMADA Skhid, which also were sent to Luhansk region. Accordingly, the newspaper’s circulation has also increased to 30.000 in Donetsk region and 30.000 in Luhansk region.
We will recall that the publication appeared in frontline villages in Donetsk region exactly a year ago. Then the team of Charitable Foundation Caritas Mariupol found support at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, created an editorial office, and from August 2019 twice a month our rural distributors deliver the newspaper to the most remote corners of the buffer zone in East of Ukraine. During this time, 22 issues of the newspaper have been published, and more than 40 people have already found freelance work in the project: village distributors and public correspondents.
Since June 2020, work has been underway to extend the project to Luhansk region: currently all system processes have been scaled to a new location, a team of regional managers has been selected, distributors from Luhansk villages are being trained, and local journalists are being selected.
